Sublimotion, Ibiza’s first gastronomic performance located at Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza, is getting its fifth season underway with the addition of the US TV chef, and holder of two Michelin stars, David Chang.
For 2018, Sublimotion chef Paco Roncero has invited Chang, of Korean origin, to form part of the Sublimotion team to create a dish based on a reinterpretation of Japanese cuisine. Chang joins a cast of chefs formed by Paco Roncero, Dani García, Diego Guerrero, Toño Pérez and pastry chef Paco Torreblanca, creating a team which collectively has 10 Michelin stars, bringing together their unique culinary skills to offer an unprecedented gastronomic performance.
The fifth season also includes the collaboration with in-house chef at Dom Pérignon, Marco Fadiga. The Italian chef has created a new dish for the Sublimotion 2018 season, which will be served to diners to introduce them to the world of the exclusive Champagne Dom Pérignon Second Plénitude (P2).
Sublimotion aims to provide guests with a new and cutting-edge experience for guests. The 2018 show pays homage to the Second Plénitude of Dom Pérignon; a result of a sixteen-year production process, resulting in an intense, vibrant and delicate wine bursting with energy. Every bottle is a fine-tuned creation, with the brand also curating experiences that surpass the concept of luxury.
The kitchen staff and chefs, design and engineering teams have worked together meticulously to create a new set where thanks to “Hybrid Reality” will immerse 12 diners per seating in a completely virtual environment, where they can interact and taste haute-cuisine in a new and inimitable way.
Those lucky enough to try it will feel like they’re “sitting down to eat inside a video game”, as they observe culinary creations flying around them, and can reach out and taste them, showcasing a clever convergence of VR with real life.
