Head to the Balearic Islands’ largest city this spring for the opening of El Llorenç Parc de la Mar, a beautifully authentic hotel filled with gastronomic opulence
Opening its swish doors in the heart of Palma de Mallorca, the new boutique opening will be the first its kind on the island.
Filled with striking interiors, the new property offers surroundings styled by established Swedish interior designer Magnus Ehrland. The design aims to conjure a new form of Balearic style, presenting a step away from the well-rehearsed white beach linens and wicker combination.
Paying homage to the history of Palma, Moorish motifs can be found throughout the hotel’s design, seen throughout the property in authentic dark wood lattice-work and Arab-Mallorcan tiling details.
With only 35 guestrooms, the new hotel will offer a sanctuary of exclusive tranquility, a feeling aided by the addition of two swimming pools, a rooftop bar, a new destination restaurant and a spa in collaboration with Natura Bissé.
The location of El Llorenç couldn’t be more perfect for a relaxing break. Situated in La Calatrava, the oldest neighbourhood in the city, the area offers a melting pot for the cultures responsible for shaping Mallorca.
It will also be within walking distance of historical attractions such as the Arab Baths and the famous Catedral de Mallorca.
Foodie guests can also satisfy their appetites with El Llorenç Parc de le Mar’s gastronomic offerings. Spearheaded by renowned Mallorcan chef Santi Taura, the hotel’s restaurant DINS will offer a unique dining experience – think traditional cuisine made with locally sourced, seasonal ingredients.
Whether it’s the tasting menu or a la carte, the menu aims to cater for everyone. Signature dishes will include ‘Panada de Moll’ a traditional red mullet pie which has been made on the island for centuries.
The array will also feature the much-loved ‘Llagosta am ous Fregits’, freshly caught lobster with fried eggs and ‘Porcella amb Anfòs’ a rare dish bringing together elements of the Mallorcan sea and land.
For General Manager Joan Comas, the new hotel brings a fresh dose of culture to the island. “El Llorenç Parc de la Mar is a unique hotel that embodies the best of what Mallorca has to offer, whilst also offering something that hasn’t been seen on the island before.”
He continued: “The hotel has the versatility to tailor to the needs of the modern traveller – whether they want to rejuvenate, party or site-see.”
Opening spring 2019. Rooms start from €240 per night during low season and €300 during peak season.
