Back in August it was announced that Andreas would be taking over restaurant Äbtestube at Grand Resort Bad Ragaz, FOUR cannow reveal that the new restaurant will be named Igniv and will open on16thDecember 2015.
As anative of Switzerland’s Graubünden region, the name means ‘nest’ inthe ancient Graubünden language of Rhaeto-Romanic. Along with a new name, the new-look restaurant will offer a whole new dining experience that is set to beanentirely different gastronomic concept to that of Schloss Schauenstein, the award-winning restaurant that has featuredon the World’s 50 Best Restaurants list since 2011.
To be successful means having a strong awareness of quality, innovation and courage to break new ground, which is exactly whatthree-Michelin-star chef Andreas Caminada aims to do with Igniv. Thephilosophy behind the new dining concept of the aptly named ‘nest’will be based on the idea of sharing, of coming together to enjoy and indulge in gourmetcuisine, whilst also allowing for a deepersocial experience for guests. The menu will also reflect this new stance that Caminada has taken by offering guests menus that consist ofeither 14 or 18 different sharing plates.
Speaking about the new venture, Andreas commented,“We want to bring people together around the table, to get them eating together, speaking to each other, sharing ideas while enjoying some of the same meals and dishes”.
Asthe youngest three-star chef in Europe, Caminada has created a mecca for high-end-foodies and continues to wow with his classicFrench-stylecuisine, with a focus on the region and season. He endevours to work with regional products that are theninterpretted in a modern way. For Caminada, hisSwiss playground proves plentiful in theimpressive diversity of products andinnovative producers that he has to choose from.Caminada will continue tosurprise and delight hisguests by offering the best of the region, whilst taking them on aculinary journey for thesenses.
With a menu that offers a uniqueGraubünden culinary experience, set against the backdrop ofthe beautiful surroundings of the spa resort Bad Ragaz, this dining venue is set to please both guests’ palates and soul.
