Acquired in Summer 2021 by businessman Sri Prakash Lohia, Castelfalfi, the ancient Tuscan estate nestled in the Florentine hills, is now preparing for its new beginnings offering guests and residents an experience of simple Tuscan tradition.
Castelfalfi’s new patron recognised the potential of the destination and has commenced an ambitious investment plan that aims to preserve the landscape’s natural beauty whilst transforming it into an exemplar lifestyle and wellness destination.
One of the principal developments will be a 5-star hotel, flanked by a series of newly restored villas and farmhouses that are available for short and long stays, as well as for purchase. The converted old Tobacco warehouse will be home to 31 hotel rooms, each boasting elegant interiors, luxurious amenities and panoramic views of the rolling countryside hills. The estate also welcomes pets.
Rather than transforming Castelfalfi into a residential community exclusively for investors, the new proprietor’s plans will foster a sense of openness and promote it as a freely accessible destination for all. Travellers and residents from neighbouring areas will be able to immerse themselves in outdoor activities and the 27-hole Castelfalfi Golf Club, the largest in the region and one of the most challenging courses in Italy.
Surrounded by vineyards, olive groves and woodlands, the resort will provide the perfect backdrop for a quintessential Tuscan retreat. There are five restaurants and bars on site, all led by Executive Chef Francesco Ferretti. Offering the best of locally sourced produce, each of the carefully prepared dishes will showcase the beauty of Tuscany’s bounty on a plate.
For those looking for the ultimate spa experience, the estate’s La Spa offers guests an unforgettable experience with its wide range of sensory experiences, holistic treatments and nature-inspired beauty rituals. It boasts a host of facilities including an indoor pool and heated outdoor pool, hydrotherapy pool, Finnish sauna, bio sauna, Turkish bath, sensory showers and relaxation areas, all set within a breathtaking landscape.
