With sustainable travel becoming more and more important, Palladium Hotel Group is removing single-use plastics from all of its Ibiza & Tenerife hotels.
The campaign will include Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza, Hard Rock Hotel Tenerife, Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel, and all the properties under the Palladium Hotels and Grand Palladium Hotels & Resorts brands in Europe.
Starting this season, all single-use plastics will be replaced with biodegradable materials – marking a serious effort for the brand to become more eco-friendly.
The hotel company initially started its plastic substitution project in 2018 and aims to complete the elimination of single-use plastics ahead of the 2019 summer season.
Carmen Matutes, deputy director general of quality & operations at Palladium Hotel Group, told FOUR; “it has long been our aim to reduce the use of single-use plastics in our hotels.
We launched the pilot initiative at Hard Rock Hotel Tenerife in 2018 by initially eliminating straws which was a great success. We now aim to eliminate all-single-use plastics and expand the campaign to also include our Ibiza properties.”
The elimination of single-use plastics across the Ibiza & Tenerife hotel portfolio is just one step in a series of environmental initiatives undertaken by Palladium Hotel Group to reduce its impact on the environment.
To date, Palladium Hotel Group has received many awards for its commitment to the environment, such as the recent ‘Rethink Hotel’ award, given to Hard Rock Hotel Tenerife.
A Spanish hotel chain with over forty years of experience, the chain continues to make its properties eco-conscious whilst remaining exclusive at the same time.
