Recently, Hôtel Le Cep has expanded its offerings with the addition of PARADIS, an exclusive lounge catering to aficionados of both cigars and rare spirits. Clad in oak wood and furnished with plush armchairs and leather sofas, the lounge features a wide selection of fine cigars from notable regions such as Cuba, Honduras, the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. Complementing the cigars is a curated assortment of rare spirits, including over 100 Chartreuse references, aged Marcs de Bourgogne digestifs, select whiskeys, vintage ports and cognacs, alongside one of the most unique collections of Mader wines in France, the oldest of which spent over 172 years in oak casks.
Designed with an innovative air purification and ventilation system, the inviting lounge allows guests to indulge in their passions without concern for smoke, odour or noise, ensuring a pleasant environment for all. The steady, smooth flow of fresh air, which invisibly emanates from the base of the room’s four corners, forces old air out through 30,000 strategically placed micro-holes in the oak ceiling, effectively eliminating passive smoke exposure.
Located in the beautifully preserved Thiroux de Saint Felix courtyard, which dates back to 1570, PARADIS opens up onto a comfortable and intimate outdoor space overlooking the hotel’s wine cellar. Serving as a link between the two venues, this sheltered alfresco lounge lets guests enjoy the fine weather while tasting an exceptional cigar, rare spirit or Burgundy wine from the hotel’s incredible collection of nearly 1200 appellations.
Open to hotel guests, local residents, and members of the Club Saint Félix, PARADIS provides a luxurious setting for relaxation and social gatherings. Seating up to 12, the versatile space can also be privatized for special events. In addition, guests can look forward to participating in the hotel’s newly introduced wine, tobacco and rare spirits masterclasses and themed tastings hosted in the cigar lounge. For the 2024 Olympic Games, the Olympic “Chartreuses” will be in the spotlight with a tasting of Chartreuses from Grenoble 1968, Albertville 1992 and Turin 2006, among others.
