Vast, lavish and filled with epicurean pursuits – the new Rosewood Hong Kong is set to be a feast for the senses.
With eight distinctive dining concepts, 43 floors and 322 guestrooms, the property will offer luxury travelers a dose of decadence with the new opening.
Situated within the Victoria Dockside arts, design and conceptual retail district, the new property has been slated to open in March 2019, heralding a series of inaugural “firsts” for the brand and setting Rosewood apart in Hong Kong’s luxury hospitality landscape.
The opening aims to bring a new standard of luxury to the city. A statuesque building, the Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates-designed, 65-storey exterior pays contemporary homage to the city’s verticality, with 43 floors dedicated to the hotel and its residences.
Filled with intimate spaces throughout, as well magnificent views of the Hong Kong’s iconic harbour, guests can enjoy artfully landscaped lawns, verdant gardens and terraces with immersive harbour views.
When it comes to accommodation, expect comfort of the highest level. The 322 guestrooms start at 53 square metres whilst 91 suites start at 92 square metres – making them among the largest in the city.
For something exceptional, book the 1,000-square-metre (10,764-square-feet) Harbour House and The Garden House suites, which enjoy wraparound Victoria Harbour views from their private sky terraces on the 57th floor.
If the view doesn’t conjure a ‘wow’ factor, the planted landscaped gardens, sun decks with private lap pools and a dedicated, state-of-the-art private gym might.
For the foodies, whet appetites with 8 dining concepts, each possessing a distinctive character and unique flavour. The majority of venues will also feature al fresco terraces and views overlooking the water.
At launch, Rosewood will showcase its creative and contemporary interpretation of Hong Kong’s unique culinary history with Chinese tea house Holt’s Café; refined regional Cantonese cuisine at The Legacy House; and creative cocktails at the hotel’s discreet, richly ambient bar, DarkSide.
For Sonia Cheng, chief executive officer of Rosewood Hotel Group, the new opening marks a landmark for the brand.
“As the ultra-luxury hospitality jewel of Victoria Dockside and also the latest and most comprehensive expression of my vision for the Rosewood brand, Rosewood Hong Kong will play an important role in the future narrative of Hong Kong and for the group,” she told FOUR.
“The hotel’s creative, innovative and distinctive offerings will bring new vibrancy to Hong Kong, establishing a compelling destination within Tsim Sha Tsui and the Kowloon waterfront and adding an important new and differentiated voice to the city’s luxury arena.”
