And this has been achieved exceptionally well at the Hotel Schloss Seefels on Lake Wörthersee. LIVING STYLE
The castle was completely renovated just two years ago. Stylish, but not dusty. Colourful, but not overwhelming. Luxurious, but not over the top. More than 200 contemporary works of art from the Haselsteiner family private collection, including pieces from artists Maria Lassnig, Karel Appel, Christian Ludwig Attersee and Kiki Kogelnik, form a symbiosis with elements from interior icons such as Christian Lacroix, Pierre Frey, Bielefelder Werkstätten, the Viennese manufacturer Wittmann, Flos and Venini. Nine leading colours and 13 designs demonstrate the courage to create a completely new style. In one of the most beautiful spots on Lake Wörthersee, a total work of art has been designed that is a refuge for those seeking peace and quiet and for connoisseurs at any time of year.

HANDCRAFTED FURNITURE
Hotelier Helena Ramsbacher left nothing to chance when designing the 68 rooms. The best example is the Udo Jürgens Suite. The composer and musician loved his stays at Lake Wörthersee and always enjoyed meeting up with friends in the legendary Schlossbar. A suite was dedicated to him as a tribute to his work and his close connection with the hotel. This suite was also given a makeover as part of the redesign − now with a balcony and loggia for even more lake views. The furnishings consist of unique pieces from renowned manufacturers: guests can sleep on a haute couture mattress from Paris or take a seat on furniture from a renowned Viennese furnishing workshop. A sophisticated metallic-look wallpaper creates a shimmering effect in gold and silver. However, the absolute highlight of the luxury suite in the six-metre-high tower is the master bed, which shimmers in mother-of-pearl and is artfully wallpapered in a diamond pattern. Here, in the Udo Jürgens Suite, you feel a little closer to heaven. Is it the proximity to Billi Thanner‘s ladder to heaven or the view over the lake?
From above, the view also falls on the spacious, lovingly tended 30,000 square metre palace garden. A green paradise that nestles on the shores of Lake Wörthersee and invites you to linger. It frames the building, which was built on a rock back in 1860. Although the interior of the castle has been transformed into a modern art hotel, it has never lost its fairytale charm over the years. Quite the opposite − the beauty of the historic architecture has been emphasised even more by the renovation and the art.

LOUNGING PLACES
On the lakeside, the house opens up to the water and offers wonderful seats to linger in. This starts in the morning with the castle breakfast on the terrace and extends to the private retreats such as the balcony and Porto Bello, the white pavilion right next to the hotel‘s own marina. The colours yellow, red and white are reminiscent of the Carinthian national colours and create a light and airy atmosphere.
An ice cream from the gelateria, an aperitif at sunset, Alps-Adriatic cuisine with homemade pasta and between eight and ten different types of fresh fish, crispy fried on the grill every day, characterise the enjoyment at Porto Bello. In addition to the regional delicacies, chef Richard Hessl also brings in very exclusive products, such as the prawns, which are farmed in Austria. Here, you can meet up with people close to your heart and experience Lake Wörthersee in a tasteful way with the lapping of the waves in your ear and the shining stars in the sky. The lounge is also the perfect place for a sundowner or a romantic dinner − whether with trendy drinks or classics by the glass.

Fancy even more romance and exclusivity? Then a short lake cruise on a motorboat is just the thing. For around an hour, the boat guide takes you to particularly idyllic bays and vantage points on Lake Wörthersee while the sunset is reflected in the water and the summer breeze plays with your hair. Sit back and enjoy. Celebrate life and love. With champagne and canapés. An exclusive experience that will make your heart leap for joy. There‘s a little more action during the day with surfing. With a special motorboat, the skipper can create really cool waves on the water and challenge ambitious athletes. Also on the waterway, the new luxury motorboat, which has room for twelve people, takes you directly to the other side of the lake to play golf or go sightseeing on the Maria Wörth peninsula.
Thanks to its central location, Hotel Schloss Seefels is the perfect starting point for excursions and discoveries in the Alps-Adriatic region. While some walk along the Lake Wörthersee circular hiking trail or cruise around the lake on an e-bike, others meet up for tennis or yoga classes. The summer programme at the Seefels leaves no room for boredom.
Sometimes, you also need a little self-care. Especially during the S-moments, i.e. when swimming, in the sauna and in the spa, you can do something good for yourself and let yourself be pampered from head to toe. The completely redesigned spa offers everything you need for this. Massages relieve tension, and beauty treatments restore your inner glow. In between, there is plenty of time to put your feet up, let your thoughts wander and look out over the lake, which has drinking water quality. The pool, fitness room and many other amenities contribute to your well-being.
