A Taste of Royalty in East London – South Place Hotel’s Jubilee-Inspired Afternoon Tea
Especially for the Jubilee weekend, South Place Hotel, the luxury boutique retreat located in the heart of East London, has partnered with Nyetimber to offer a celebratory afternoon tea for Londoners and visitors to the city. Guests are invited to raise a complimentary glass of English sparkling wine in the name of Her Majesty the Queen before indulging in delicious bites and irresistible desserts. Devised by Head Pastry Chef Nelson Barros, the menu starts with a rich selection of luxury sandwiches including Chicken, Roquette & Black Truffle and Cornish Crab Rolls before moving on to freshly made scones. The impressive, sweet selection continues with a Milk Chocolate & Pecan Rocher, Apricot, Peach & Verbena Bavarois, and of course a classic Eton Mess with fresh English strawberries. Tea will be served on the hotel’s outdoor terrace which has recently been redesigned with a vibrant display of flowers in a quintessentially British colour palate.

Best of British Gastronomy – The LaLee at The Cadogan, A Belmond Hotel
As the nation prepares for the celebration of the century – the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee – The Cadogan announces the launch of two new Best of British dishes at its new café-restaurant, The LaLee. Try the tempting Cornish Lamb ‘Hot Pot’, a succulent lamb rump served with a zesty spring pea and glazed carrots. For dessert, the Cadogan ‘Trifle’ is a sumptuous mixture of fresh summer berries, vanilla, and Crème Chantilly. The expert LaLee mixologists have also created a limited-edition ‘LaLee in Bloom’ cocktail, a celebration of British botanicals blending Gin, lemon juice, peach puree, Cointreau, and Chambord, topped with a floating Butterfly Pea Flower infused in gin. Dishes can be enjoyed on the alfresco terrace, with views over well-heeled Sloane Street, or in the luxurious café-restaurant with its open fireplaces and plush leather seating.
