As of 20 May 2024, Zuma Cannes has opened its doors. Situated in the historic Palm Beach at Pointe Croisette, the establishment welcomes guests just in time for the Cannes Film Festival, positioning itself as a prime gathering spot for celebrities and movie stars.
Co-founder Rainer Becker said, ‘’Palm Beach is and has been such an iconic location, and we couldn’t have thought of a better place to have our first restaurant in France.’’
Founded by Rainer Becker and Arjun Waney in 2002, Zuma started in London and has since expanded globally with locations in cities such as Hong Kong, Dubai, Doha, Rome, Boston, Miami and New York, among others. In addition to permanent restaurants, Zuma has a number of pop-ups and seasonal venues in the world’s most sought-after locations, including Datça Peninsula, Bodrum, Phuket, Kitzbühel, Ibiza, Mykonos, Munich and Porto Cervo.
Zuma is known for its unique culinary concept, which includes a main kitchen, sushi counter and robata grill, providing an upscale Japanese dining experience. The brand has received numerous accolades for its gastronomic, design and hospitality excellence, including being named ‘Restaurant of the Year’ in the UK’s Tatler Restaurant Awards, plus listings in Conde Nast Traveller’s Hot Tables Awards, The S. Pellegrino World’s Best Restaurants and MENA’s 50 Best Restaurants.
The brand’s latest launch in France features Zuma’s classic design aesthetic with fresh elements that enhance the Mediterranean backdrop. It includes a spacious terrace that offers stunning views over Bay Croisette, complete with retractable sails that capture the gentle breezes, perfect for enjoying the scenic Cote d’Azur.
The menu spotlights one-of-a-kind dishes specific to the Cannes location and some well-loved classics, such as sliced otoro with smoked tomato dashi and oscietra caviar. Unique to Zuma Cannes is the beef tartare seasoned with Sancho pepper, myoga and black truffle. The meal concludes beautifully with desserts like the exotic fruit pavlova topped with cherry blossom chantilly and mango sorbet, ideal for a summery evening on the Riviera.
