London’s inaugural ‘Bubbly Show’ is kicking off summer in style with an exclusive two-day event on June 23rd and 24th. Set to take place at the magnificent {10-11} Carlton House Terrace by Pall Mall and hosted by renowned restaurateur Searcys, this bubbles extravaganza promises a delightful celebration of all things fizz, featuring a jam-packed roster of tastings, informative talks, and unforgettable dining experiences.
Starting at just £49 per person, tickets include eight samples of Champagne and sparkling wine and give guests access to a host of captivating discussions. Sample a wide selection of bubbles from esteemed producers like Taittinger, Perrier-Jouët, Chapel Down, Gusbourne, and Greyfriars while indulging in delectable bites, afternoon tea, and an on-site bar to keep your glass brimming.
In collaboration with the Honest Grapes Wine Club, the event will feature a range of enlightening talks and guided tastings, including:
- Battle of the Bubbles – England vs France: Witness a spirited tasting showdown between the heavyweight contenders, Champagne and English sparkling wine. Led by The Spectator’s wine writer, Jonathan Ray, this event pays homage to English Wine Week (June 17th-25th). Guests will have the opportunity to blind-taste a selection of bubbles from both regions, ultimately crowning the ultimate champion.
Date: June 23rd, 6pm. Cost: £15 per person.
- Laurent-Perrier ‘Grand Siècle’ Champagne Dinner: Immerse yourself in an exclusive dining experience paired with some of the finest vintages in Champagne from Laurent-Perrier. Spotlighting the prestigious ‘Le Grand Siècle’ range, characterised by a minimum ageing period of 10 years, resulting in intense aromatic complexity while maintaining a fresh and vibrant profile, guests will be expertly guided through an exciting tasting. Searcys has also devised a special seasonal menu to complement the bubbles.
Date: June 23rd, 7pm-9.30pm. Cost: £125 per person.
- The Art of Sabrage: Learn the fascinating technique of sabrage, the art of opening a champagne bottle with a sabre, under the guidance of Martin Dibben, Searcys’ Head of Champagne. This ceremonial skill, dating back to the time of Napoleon, will impress and astound as guests discover the secrets behind this exclusive practice, typically reserved for esteemed hotels and restaurants.
Date: June 24th, 3pm. Cost: £60 per person.
