The German-wide gourmet series Taste of Germany will see 13 events with 29 international Relais & Châteaux chefs in Germany. The opening gala took place at Heinz Winkler’s residency in Chiemgau, where he, together with Enrico Cerea of restaurant Da Vittorioin Italy, cooked up some culinary delights. The highlights among the nine courses were sautéed langoustine with pumpkin sorbet, foie gras and ginger, or Veal Timbale with parsley mousseline and madeira sauce, all accompanied with the perfect wine pairing.
The passion and some outstanding culinary arts will be celebrated in the German Relais & Châteaux properties in the coming months, starting with Park-Hotel Egerner Höfe at Tegernsee on 28 February, where chefs Michael Fell and Holger Bodendorf of Relais & Châteaux Landhaus Stricker in Sylt join up to creatively combine south and north Germany in their culinary creations.
