Following the release of Hakkasan Dubai‘s latest menu earlier in October, the acclaimed Cantonese eatery is now delivering even more gastronomic joy in the form of an exclusive four-hands dinner with renowned chef Vicky Cheng of VEA in Hong Kong. This one-of-a-kind culinary experience will only take place for two dinner services, on 21 and 22 October 2022.
Vicky Cheng has made a name for himself on the global gastronomic stage. By serving a stellar bi-weekly changing degustation menu that spotlights rare Chinese ingredients, VEA has won the praise of critics and diners alike. In addition to its Michelin star, VEA has remained a stalwart on Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants list, and Vicky has been named Chef of the Year by Hong Kong Tatler.
Marking a special occasion, this will be the first time that Vicky will be cooking for the diners of Dubai. Together with Hakkasan’s Executive Chef Andy Toh, the pair have conjured up a special eight-course menu that will showcase both chefs’ unique culinary strengths. Vicky’s passion for contemporary “Chinese x French” cuisine is omnipresent in every dish he creates, and this will perfectly complement Andy’s modern approach to Cantonese cuisine. Utilising the highest quality ingredients and superb cooking skills, these culinary creations will make for an unmissable and unforgettable dining experience.
The tasting menu will include a blend of signature and new, unexpected dishes from both chefs. From Hakkasan, guests can expect the popular Peking duck as well as wok-fried wild carabineros with green asparagus, lily bulb and kam heong sauce. VEA’s dishes will feature seasonal fish with Sichuan chilli oil and fermented cabbage, as well as fish maw with Oscietra caviar and quinoa. Both chefs will present a once-off collaboration dish of beef “char siu”.
